About Me

Thomas, a German national, is one of the distinguished founders, Chairman, Director and Managing Director of Ghana Community Development and Life Care (GCDLC), a non-profit organization based in Accra, Ghana, with a Dependency in Hamburg, Germany. In his involvement, GCDLC has become a major force in implementing aid projects across Ghana, addressing critical community needs and promoting sustainable development.

As Senior Project Manager and Supervisor, Thomas oversees the planning, implementation and management of numerous projects. He represents GCDLC internationally and is the primary contact for partnerships and global initiatives.

Expertise and Background:

Thomas has a rich and diverse professional background as a forester, logger and mechanic with extensive training in forestry in Lower Saxony, Germany. He gained experience at the State Experimental Forestry Office in the Harz Mountains, Northern Germany’s highest mountain range. This fundamental expertise has shaped his lifelong commitment to environmental sustainability and innovative resource management.

As a senior manager in Bangladesh, he led transformative projects to convert household appliances and water systems to solar-powered solutions for rural villages.

As Country Director of Germany, he led initiatives to ensure food security for the poorest communities and founded a specialized aid group focused on protecting single mothers and children and ensuring their access to a dignified life.

Renewable energy and sustainable agriculture:

He designed and implemented sustainable energy systems, including vegetable and fruit drying systems, cooking stoves, and rainwater collection and irrigation systems.

Designs alternative water harvesting methods and water conservation technologies to address global water resource scarcity. Develops projects that integrate sustainable agriculture, pond and lake construction in arid regions.

Water resource management:

Combining hydraulic engineering with innovative irrigation and rainwater collection systems to ensure water availability and environmental protection. He places particular emphasis on protecting water resources from contamination and pollution, recognizing the profound impacts of water quality on human health and ecosystems.

Thomas believes that protecting water from pollution and toxic substances is a cornerstone of environmental sustainability and public health. By focusing on water conservation, he seeks to mitigate the harmful effects of contamination, protect ecosystems, and ensure clean drinking water for all. His visionary approach combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to social justice and environmental stewardship, fostering thriving communities and resilient ecosystems.

Alternative Agriculture: Promoting environmentally friendly agricultural practices, including the cultivation of industrial hemp, to support sustainable economies and ecological restoration.

Herbal Medicine and Nutrition: Advocating toxin-free diets and cultivating medicinal herbs and mushrooms to promote community health and well-being.

Thomas is a passionate advocate for justice, freedom, and peace.
